    2013 - LETHEM Contrasting Mark

    The Contrasting Mark

    Exhibition dates: 6 – 25 August 2013
    Opening: Tuesday 6th August, 6 - 8pm

I am primarily interested in painting the Australian Landscape and am especially concerned with exploring the shapes and patterns within that landscape.

Whilst preparing for this exhibition, I decided to include works inspired by a recent week long painting trip to the University of NSW's arid research station near Broken Hill.

While still maintaining a monochromatic palette I introduced colours that I felt helped create a feeling of ‘place' within both the arid landscape of north western NSW and that of the upper Hunter Valley.

With this body of work I am hoping to convey my experience of being immersed in the landscape.
