For the past year I have been focusing on seascapes and the application of the paint.
This series of paintings are inspired by the feeling I get when standing on a cliff with the salty wind and the wildness of the ocean. I am attracted to the energies and atmospheres, a sense of place made physical. The wind blowing, the storms brewing, where the ocean meets the land, this is where I feel connected and alive.
As a painter I am driven by my intuition, a searching, each painting is an unplanned journey, an exploration of horizon and the interplay between earth and sky with a focus on the physicality and application of paint.
These paintings are universal, not site specific, encouraging us to consider the energies of the natural world rather than the appearance of a particular place.
