Frances Keevil Art Gallery

This is Stephen's fifth solo exhibition with Frances Keevil Gallery. He has a strong following and is represented in many collections around Australia and overseas.

Stephen uses an impasto technique with rich and vibrant colours and heavy textures to represent the decorative qualities and shapes of different fruits, vegetables and native flora and bush foods, such as Quandongs and Lilly Pilly. The subjects in this exhibition include Flowering Gums, Macrocarpa and Banksias, a "Kaleidoscope" of decorative, closely focussed large-scale paintings, with a contemporary feel and interpretation, giving a tactile, three-dimensional representation of nature.

This exhibition shows Stephen's evolution as an extremely talented painter who has perfected his technique and continues to explore subjects which allow him to create vivid images of colour. He fills his canvasses with colour and texture.
